5 Vintage Wedgwood Etruria&Barlaston Creamware EDME 6-1/4" Bread Plates, England. Queen Charlotte was so enamored with Wedgwood’s tea service gift, she awarded him a royal patent. The bread & butter plates back stamp dates the age of this set after 1940 but before about 1965. Two of the plates have crazing - see the photos. Offering for sale, a vintage set of 4 WEDGWOOD of Etruria & Barlaston EDME 6-1/4” diameter BREAD & BUTTER PLATES. The bread & butter plates are made of ribbed, creamed colored earthenware perfected by Josiah Wedgwood. He presented a cream ware tea service gift to Queen Charlotte (King George III’s wife of “Bridgerton” fame) in 1766. Queen Charlotte was so enamored with Wedgwood’s tea service gift, she awarded him a royal patent. The simple, neoclassical Edme is a classic Wedgewood pattern introduced in 1908 and was discontinued in about 2024. The bread & butter plates back stamp dates the age of this set after 1940 but before about 1965. Each bread & butter plate is 6-1/4” diameter and is 5/8” tall. The set of 5 plates weighs 2 lbs 2.4 oz. The bread & butter plates could also be used as appetizer, sandwich, snack or dessert plates. The set of 5 vintage EDME bread & butter plates is used, in vintage condition. Two of the plates have crazing - see the photos. Three of the plates have small brown discoloration spots in the rim of the plate - see the photos. The plates have no nicks, chips, or cracks observed. Check the photos for condition.
