Antique German DOLL 16” Kestner Original Early Kestner Body Pale Blue Dress WOW!. She’s in great overall condition, and ready to go! She has a bisque socket head with blue glass set eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brown brows, and an open mouth with four upper teeth. If you were hoping for an angel to enter your space, you have come to the right place! This delightful cabinet-sized early Kestner is dressed in an airy pale blue dress and a sweet hat, ready for any summertime adventures she may get up to! She’s in great overall condition, and ready to go! She has a bisque socket head with blue glass set eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brown brows, and an open mouth with four upper teeth. She stands at 16” on her original fully jointed, slim-build wood and composition early Kestner body, and wears a long brown human hair wig. She wears an antique nearly-white pale blue cotton dress with a woven-in square Swiss dot pattern, a lace-trimmed bib collar covering the bodice down to the waist, attached to two wide ties at the waist; the skirt has three pin tucks, a section of insertion ribbon, and a ruffled hem with more tucks and lace trim. Underneath, she wears a matching antique white cotton half slip and pair of pantaloons with lace trim, and an antique white cotton chemise with lace trim. On her head is a white cotton cap with lace trim, light purple ribbons around the brim, and a spray of faux flowers. Her shoes are leather reproductions with Fab Matching Rosettes MARKS: Made in Germany [incised, back of head] CONDITION: Generally excellent. The bisque head is free of any hairlines, cracks, chips, or restoration. The facial modeling and painting is top-notch, offering a cute doll face with flawless bisque in a powdery smooth bisque complexion. The blue glass eyes were originally sleep eyes, but at some point in her past the rocker broke off and they were set. The body has some age wear and touchups, but otherwise retains much of its original shiny finish. The costume has some wear, but fits her well and presents beautifully.
