Antique Victorian 14K Gold 9mm Natural Pearl Ring - Size 5.75. The makers mark on the inside is K14 within a rectangle - in checking all my books, I could not find this mark anywhere. The pearl is in terrific condition with very slight blemishes to the top; it moves ever so slightly within the 6 prong setting but the gem isn't going anywhere. Maybe Buyer will get for less than they thought! Summer is coming so I am motivated to sell! Dating to the late 1890s or so, may I offer this 14K Rose Gold (hallmarked as pictured) engagement or promise ring. Set with a large 9mm natural (I am assuming this because of the age of the piece) pearl of a pale silver grey tone, the gem is shouldered by shanks ends set with 4 split pearls of the same hue. The makers mark on the inside is K14 within a rectangle - in checking all my books, I could not find this mark anywhere. The pearl is in terrific condition with very slight blemishes to the top; it moves ever so slightly within the 6 prong setting but the gem isn't going anywhere. The underside displays a hole - it's possible the pearl is held in place by a gold spike. The gold in the top area has tarnished to a black as you can see by the photos, a light polish might take off some of the dark but most people tend to leave this area clear of cleaning as this indicates old age and really does offset the look of the pearls. Design measures 5/8" north/south x 1/2" east/west; depth of the pearl is about 7/16" from cup setting to top of pearl. Weight is 3.6 grams.
