Antique Wedgwood POTERAT England Etruria 10” Plate, Floral Basket, Dark Blue Rim. There are light utensil marks, and there is crazing in the glaze on both of the plates. Plate #1 has multiple areas of roughness in the rim of the plate - the roughness could be due to wear or small nicks in the finish. Offering for sale, a set of 2, antique glazed earthenware, Wedgwood Etruria Poterat 10” diameter Dinner Plates. The POTERAT pattern was registered in 1913 (England RD 615215). These beautiful antique plates were made in Etruria, England in November 1914 according to the date stamp, and exported to France (also known as the world of Limoges!!). The POTERAT pattern is named after the French practitioners of faience design, Edme & Louis Poterat. The plate features a dark blue rim with enameled painted flowers and yellow squashes in imitation of the French faience design with a white center decorated with a bouquet of coral orange and blue flowers in a yellow, woven basket. The plates are impressed on the back with the serif WEDGWOOD script and a printed backstamp with the pattern name, made in England, imported from England, the date stamp, and numerous artisan marks. The dinner plates are 10” diameter and 1” tall. Each plate weighs 16.3 ounces. The antique Wedgwood plates are used, in vintage condition. There are pinpoint size paint drips on a one of the plates fronts that occurred during the plate decorating process.
