Description

Artist Robert Raikes 4" Itty Bitty Hitty LE Wood Doll wTagged Dress China 2002. Her upper arms and legs appear to be constructed from cloth over wire armature. She was designed by Robert Raikes and handcrafted in China circa 2002-on, I believe, as a Limited Edition doll. That may account for the yellowing of her dress. "Itty Bitty Hitty" is approximately a 4" miniature wooden character doll that is jointed at her neck, shoulders, and thighs. Her upper arms and legs appear to be constructed from cloth over wire armature. She is hand carved from wood with a sweetly painted face, black carved hair, white painted stockings edge in red, and black painted shoes. She was designed by Robert Raikes and handcrafted in China circa 2002-on, I believe, as a Limited Edition doll. Unsigned, missing also is her hang tag. She wears a lavender and white floral printed calico dress embellished with lace that is tagged with the “Robert Raikes Enterprises” label, an off-white petticoat edged in eyelet, and coordinating pantaloons. Her dress has lightly yellowed with time. Please be aware that Itty Bitty Hitty smells heavily of a floral perfume of Febreze. That may account for the yellowing of her dress. (?) Her costume may need laundering. "Itty Bitty Hitty" is a lovely miniature of the ever popular Hitty doll, inspired by Rachel Field's beloved book, Hitty, Her First Hundred Years . PLEASE study the photos carefully and email with all questions! My photos detail her condition accurately. Though I have tried to provide an honest and detailed description, I may have omitted information that is important to you. I have also provided photos that "speak volumes."
