Perfect as the foundation for a scarf, garment panel, or patchwork project, it carries the visible character and quiet beauty of timeworn cloth. The katazome design shows gorgeous peonies and vines. It is made using a rice paste resist, then dipping the piece into the indigo vat as many times as needed to achieve the correct shade of blue. This piece has a notch cut out of it, as photographed.
