Description
The "CF Greens" were first unveiled at the 1967 World's Fair in Montreal. It coincided with the unification of the different branches of the Canadian Armed Forces into one entity, and so this was the new universal dress uniform. It was replaced by the "DEU" uniform in 1985 - essentially the same as this, but with epaulets and separate navy and air force equivalents. This particular jacket is a bit unusual, as it's for an instructor in the Royal Canadian Army Cadets (RCAC). While cadet uniforms are themselves not rare at all, this is the first time I've encountered a Canadian Army officer uniform with that sort of connection. Presumably this person had some sort of liaison role between the RCAC and the Army. The uniform has lieutenant cuff bars, as well as RCAC "wings" and collar pins. The forearm of one sleeve looks a bit dirty and faded while the rest of the jacket isn't nearly as bad - a wash might do wonders for that. Otherwise, there are a couple small stains on the back. 38" chest with a 25.5" sleeve. -------- I am a longtime collector of Cold War military equipment. However, as the need to pay for grad school looms on the horizon, I am now selling off a good portion of my collection. Follow me to see my latest listings, and grab some fascinating history (and other stuff) at great prices! I am a collector more than a salesman, and so I'm quite happy to do whatever I can to ensure that you get what you're looking for. I'm always happy to combine shipping! Unfortunately eBay makes that process difficult sometimes, but if you can't request an invoice, go ahead and buy what you want and I will refund the difference!
