Condition: Fair - Unevenly potted Strange brown staining around the rim. It is such a marvelous late 19thC example of Japonism. Mark [M & Co.] Moore and Company Bow with pattern name Eton inside. The design on this plate is lovely, plum blossoms, a butterfly, and little blue and yellow finches. It is such a marvelous late 19thC example of Japonism. It is reminiscent of Minton’s Essex birds but on a coarser scale. God bless it, it is not well potted or finished. The transfer in some cases covering scratches and marks from sloppy potting. The brown staining on the rim appears to be a glazing issue that permitted some staining to attach to the body.
