Based on this uniform this sailor earned the rank of a Lieutenant Junior Grade Officer based on the one thinner stripe and the thicker stipe with the officer grade star. The uniform itself is a dress blue uniform that was part of the official US navy officers uniform.The jacket is US Navy Officer winter blue service coat made of wool serge.The inside is lined with black rayon.There are two front pockets and 6 navy buttons that are all present.The coat is a private tailored uniform made by A. M. Ross in Pensacola,Florida and is dated March 28,1956.The uniform also comes with a navy issue belt with a brass buckle.The insignia included is petty Officer insignia meaning he likely climbed up the ranks.Also included as part of this uniform is US Navy dress navy blue wool pants that would have been worn with the jacket. The Officer Navy Dress Blue uniform would have been worn for ceremonies or while on leave.In the pocket came a photo likely of the owner of this uniform on leave in a tropical area.This is great complete, beautiful US Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade Officer dress blue uniform from Korean War that shows the story of an American hero’s sacrifice and service who honorably in the United States Navy.The uniform is named to Robert J Kruskowich however I haven’t researched his navy service.This is great research project for any collector.
