Description
RO-SEARCH COMBAT BOOTS 1984 10.5R 10½ R 6-84 w/ INSERT Army VERY GOOD Leather. The soles are stamped 'RO-SEARCH' and '10½ R' (see pics). Each boot has a sole insert that reads 'TYPE I THIS SIDE UP DO NOT BOIL 10R' (NOTE: These are size 10½ boots, but the inserts are size 10. I don't know if that's original, but it's the way I found them). You are bidding on a pair of black leather military RO-SEARCH combat boots, size 10½ R . Judging from some dirt on the soles and some minor scuffing, they appear to have been worn slightly, but probably not more than a few times. The heels show almost no wear and the paint on the lace-hole grommets is not worn. The top edges are stamped '10½ R PJ 6-84', which I assume dates these to June, 1984. Now, whoever wore these did manage to scuff them up a bit, so they do need a good polishing. The worst damage is just to the right of the right toe, which has lost a bit of skin about ½" across (see pics). I think this could probably be covered with some kind of filler (maybe just polish) if you want them to be all pretty, but I haven't attempted it. It should not affect functionality. These boots have spent decades in storage, and so may be a tad musty. But no tobacco or mothball stench.
