Original Book of Mormon Pages (Set of 3) — First Three Editions Authentic Leaves from the 1830 • 1837 • 1840 Editions Description A rare trio of authentic leaves from the first three editions of the Book of Mormon, representing the earliest stages of its publication and evolution: Center: 1830 First Edition — Book of Alma, pages 238–239. Printed in Palmyra, New York by E. B. Grandin. Contains narrative from Alma’s preaching and early Nephite records. Right: 1837 Second Edition — Book of Ether, pages 572–573. Printed in Kirtland, Ohio by O. Cowdery & Co. Includes text describing the Jaredite record and concluding teachings of Ether. Left: 1840 Third Edition — Book of Nephi, pages 406–407. Printed in Nauvoo, Illinois under Joseph Smith’s direction, recounting late Nephite history and moral decline preceding destruction. Together, these pages span the first decade of Book of Mormon printing—from Palmyra (1830) to Kirtland (1837) to Nauvoo (1840)—and illustrate the textual and typographic development of early Latter-day Saint scripture. Condition All pages are approximately 185–195 years old with expected age-related wear: edge chips, small tears, toning, and light stains. Please review photos carefully. The 1830 Alma leaf shows visible edge loss and closed tears but retains all text; typical of paper from the Grandin printing. The 1837 Ether leaf shows moderate toning and scattered foxing along edges. The 1840 Nephi leaf displays light toning and a few edge nicks, overall clean and legible. These leaves were preserved from damaged or incomplete volumes—an accessible way to own original fragments of early LDS printing history. Why Collect Single Leaves? Historical significance: The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd editions mark the foundation of Book of Mormon publishing (Palmyra → Kirtland → Nauvoo). Framing & display: Perfect for homes, offices, libraries, and teaching collections. Educational value: Ideal for illustrating early 19th-century American religious printing and textual evolution.
