Vintage 1961 Mattel Barbie Bubble Cut Doll Japan Body Sheath Sensation #986. The doll is dressed in the classic Sheath Sensation fashion (#986) from 1961, featuring a red fitted sheath dress with four gold-tone buttons and two patch pockets. Any noticeable flaws are photographed and/or described. Vintage 1961 Mattel Barbie “Bubble Cut” doll in golden blonde, on an early Japan-made Barbie body. The Bubble Cut was the second hairstyle introduced by Mattel and remains one of the most recognizable early Barbie dolls. The doll is dressed in the classic Sheath Sensation fashion (#986) from 1961, featuring a red fitted sheath dress with four gold-tone buttons and two patch pockets. This outfit was originally sold separately by Mattel.
