It has holes, mends, stains, all sorts! This piece would just be absolutely perfect for framing and wear - it doesn't get any more beautiful and artistic. I love to think about the amazing care taken to preserve this textile - whoever owned it wore it until she absolutely couldn't anymore! Looking at the patterns of wear, it was probably worn with a belt which is why there is such considerable degradation around the waist. This is really a piece of art, and I just can't get enough of looking at it! Although it is not suitable for wear, it would be absolute perfection for hanging and admiring, or great for study!
