Item specifics: Size: Approx. 25 inches long by 20 inches wide (mounted board size) Item specifics This striking wallpaper sample sheet brings together two very different but complementary designs, dating to the late 19th to very early 20th century, a period when bold color and graphic pattern were increasingly embraced in European interiors. The upper paper shows a soft, painterly floral design with stylized leaves and blossoms rendered in gentle greens, butter yellow, and cream, arranged over a subtly striated ground that gives wonderful depth and movement. Below, the vibrant red paper features a rhythmic, almost architectural repeat with stylized fruit medallions and strong linear elements, clearly reflecting the growing influence of Arts and Crafts and early Art Deco tendencies. Together, they beautifully illustrate the transition from softer historic motifs toward bolder, more modern decorative language, all on original antique paper with honest signs of time and handling that add to their wabi sabi charm.
