I am confident it is English and would bet almost anything it was from Thomas Furnival & Sons. I have the larger version of this pitcher with bowl, in bright blue. Likely Thos. Furnival & Sons Gothic Revival “Gothic” Pitcher Dimensions: 9” Tall 8” Wide including Handle Condition: Very very good See photo for scratches in maroon glaze. Caramel lustre is glittering. Markings: In brown glaze: 3 9/2 in red glaze: 3501 26/4 This spectacular example of the Gothic Revival had a similar example for sale at Fontaine’s and was described thusly: “Gothic Pattern Transferware Pitcher 9 in. high water pitcher ; maroon decorated body with tan colored gothic arches, spires and filigree. Unsigned, Consignor Note: "An identical set can be seen in the 1893 Vanderbilt mansion The Breakers in Newport RI.". If this is true, it would place this in the last decade of the 19th century.
